Bank of America

Simple question folks.  I've been trying to find a good contact at BoA for about a year that could lead to some of their business.  In my section of Virginia they are one of the largest accounts.  I currently handle BPOs for them and that department either can't, or won't, provide me with a contact.  Anyone got a good contact I can use.  If you do, but don't want to share it with all your potential competitors you can email me at bob@realtorbobrouse.com

Appreciate the help guys.  Bob

  • BoA will not respond to direct inquiries for any reason. It will take a referral from someone working for them, when they have a need for another agent in your area, to get in the door. And the person doing the referring will be held accountable for that referral, so few people will do that.

Add in that BoA works in many different layers or departments and they seldom talk to each other. Plus they use a lot of small 3rd party property managers who may cover multiple states. And the quickest way to loose business from BoA is to give out these contacts. And trust me, they are not published anywhere.

In 2009 I did a lot of work for them in my area. Was even asked to do some consulting and research work. I was even set up as an Authorized Vendor by their senior management who I was working for. But when that work was finished, I could not get an internal referral to another department with more work. Even the property manager I was working with was moved around.

The old saying applies to them..... "Don't call us, we'll call you!"

    • Thanks Steve.   I did have a referral from some of the Ocwen people when Countrywide got the VA contract for our area.  And then from the Countrywide folk when BoA bought them.  The thing that was amazing is that the agents who ended up with the business had absolutely no REO experience.  Appreciate your taking the time to respond.

      • They don't always ask for experience, they didn't with me but I had it already.
  • Have you ever looked up any of their loan officers in your area and tried to go about it that way?
    • I have.  And would believe they don't know the answer to the question either.

      Tks
