HUD is expected to award the REO Asset Management Contracts

I just heard HUD is expected to award REO Asset Managment Contracts in 17 states.

Does anyone know what 17 states are being targeted?

Looks like a PAS will be one of the contracts.

It appears the date to announce the REO Asset Management contract winners is close. I continue to receive solicitations to attend webinars on How to become a HUD/REO Listing Agent/Broker. It would be great if the Northern California REO AM is accepting new applicants. It appears to be very difficult to onboard with the current HUD/REO Asset Managers. If any current HUD/REO Listing Brokers has knowledge of a HUD/REO Asset Manager currently accepting new broker HUD/REO Listing applications would be welcomed!

Another month has passed and no announcement yet. Any insides?, here is what I heard.

#1: HUD did announce the MCM a few weeks ago but, a formal protest may be on the way because the company may not be in compliance with the size requirements and standards

#2: FSM hasn't been announce yet because a formal protest was issued against the front runner for size disqualifications.

#3: NOTHING..."A BIG FAT NOTHING" has happened on the AM contract except for the fact that HUD asked all the contractors to extend their contracts till the end of September.

....alright, let the speculation run

Thanks for the update Jesse! Who is the front runner? I just read on the mcm award on da news

I don't know that I am at liberty to say what I know for sure yet because, my sources are conflicted. I have one source telling me one thing and I have another source telling me something different so.....chances are, no one really knows yet.

Thanks for giving us the skinny.

The award for 17 states happened over a year ago! And the tasks for the Listing Agents in AM 3.7 have changed dramatically!  Anyone that doesn't have that information ( the changes) is going to be surprised to find out they are unprepared!  I wish whoever keeps advertising that class saying 17 states are up for award would get their info straight!

Currently there are 33 states, DC, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands waiting for awards to be announced.  Those states are CO, UT, NM, TX, OK, AR, MS, MO, MI, IN, IL, TN, LA, AL, TN, KY, GA, FL, NC, SC, WV, VA, MD, DE, PA, NY,  NJ, RI, CT, MASS, VT, OH, NH.  There is nothing happening with the AM3.7 I have received no notifications from HUD at all.  MY GUESS is that it will be the end of July the beginning of August.  HUD has not announced "best and final" if HUD does that it will be longer until the final awards are made.

What are the changes?

Hey Deborah,

Do you know if HUD announced awards yet?  I live in MI and want to submit to become a listing agent (not a broker), can I still apply?

Also, there is another agent in my company that does this already HUD listings - will they allow 2 agents from the same company (we have around 34 agents / brokers at my firm).

Please let me know what you think, thanks.  Have a great day and best of luck for the rest of the summer selling season!

Thanks for the response and info; are you located in Michigan?  Do you know who currently has the contract in MI?
