Mainstreet Valuation

Anyone has experience using non-thumb images from MLS for comp front views? I don't think they expect agents to take photo of each comp. But they say no thumb images.....Is there a way to speed it up or developing macro to transfer data from MLS to their spread sheet?Any suggestions are appreciated...When they increase the size 3 is my capacity.Sam

  • Main Street is not too bad once you get used to it. My main complaint is that they want you to cut and paste the mls remarks and gamls doesn't permit copy. Sooooo ..... you either have to retype everything verbatim or explain why you can't. Then if you copy a crummy mls and it says just 'pending at list' they bounce back and tell you it has to be so many characters. Not too intuitive actually but they pay on time and give decent turn around times. Good luck and happy closings. ;)

  • I will try to get a different upload software. The primitive way is to FTP through an Unix language based through tool via an editor. Not sure about their architecture so if it fails I have to call. Thanks for all the suggestions.
This is my first time working with them.
  • Yeah, I agree, Mainstreet's system is pretty bad. Most of the time, I end up just emailing the images to them and they take care of it. I have not had the best luck using their system.
  • I just save the MLS photo to a jpeg then upload in their system and it works fine.
  • Jesus,
    Thanks much.

  • ..hhmm...our MLS has a "Auto Re-Sizer" you can use when pulling photos for comps. Check with your MLS, they may have a similar tool you can download to your PC. I have also used "Picasa" in the past for re-sizing and it worked well. Hope that helps.
  • Ryan,
As a perfectionist the images you copy from MLS is around 20K.

What image size do you upload to? I always reduce to <100K to speed things up,
Their system is not the fastest....

    Thanks again.

  • When they say no thumb images, they are referring to the small images next to the list of properties that come up when you are performing a search. If you are looking at a full report for a specific property, that image is sufficient and is the size you should use. I don't have an answer for your other questions.

    Hope that helps.
