  • In reading older post, I went to sign up for the NVSI Designation, just to "...add to my list of..." Love these sites that you sign up for and at the very end, hit you with a $399 registration fee. Thanks, but no thanks. I have done many many BPOs and do not need this certification.
  • I have a NVSI BPO cert. If you're really good at comps, it doesn't help much. I've done some BPOs for eMortgage Logic, but not sure the certificate helped get the job. The one thing they taught was that BPOs need to stay within the guide lines. For example, within 1 mile urban, 3 miles suburban etc. Also within percentage of square feet etc. If you don't, you need to explain why, or they kick it back to you. But most of you probably already know all that. Some companies are required to ask a NVSI cert agent first. But they can give you just a few minutes to acknowledge and then they send it out to the masses.
  • Hi Jesse - I too have this certification. I can't say that I have seen any new work due to it, but then I am not always informed of how various am's get my information. It would be nice if there was a uniform way to see where the am's got us from, but that is another subject for another day. :-)
Thanks for all you do with this site for us.

    • Hi Beth,

What is the cost for this certification?
      • If you go to NABPOP you can check out their fees there. You join the association and then you are able to take the tests. Good luck
  • Yes I have it and have for about a year. I haven't gotten any more or less because of it. I was actually thinking of calling to see where they were at getting more companies on board.
  • Hi Guys, this email I received 2 days ago, and 1st thing I did is I paid for the course :) I'm glad for certification, and I'm hoping it will benefit with my business. I will keep you informed on the progress.

    Hi,

I am an asset manager with ..... Normally
we assign BPO's to agents by emailing an assignment to several agents. We
give the BPO assignment to the first person that clicks the link to accept.
However, our company has adopted the NVSI standard and I am now required to
check our system to see if any one in the area of an assignment is NVSI
certified before I send out a mass email. Your name appeared on the list
NVSI sent us but your name shows as "registered not certified." I'm sending
you this email because we are in the process of acquiring a major client and
I do not have a NVSI certified agent in my system for your area.

We use the Dispo Solutions software to manage our BPO and REO assignments.
To find out if you are registered with Dispo Solutions go to
    https://www.disposolutions.com/clientlogins/dst/signup.aspx and enter your
email address. If you are not signed up please do so. Additionally, in order
for me to mark you as a preferred agent in the software you have to be NVSI
certified. Please scan your certificate and email it back to me or contact
NVSI and have them change your status on the list from "Registered" to
    "Certified".

    Thanks,

    • Yeah, I got a very similar email so, it's most likely a form solicitation email. Keep me posted, I would love to know your experience before I spend the money.
      • Hi Jesse, I emailed her back and she said that she is waiting on certification. I will let you know on the progres. Thank for a great topic.
  • I took the certification about a year ago. I do know the person Teresa Turner who was with RR and iAS for a long time and very much reputable. As far as any insight I think its a great source to have your name placed out in front of assset managers, but I have not really gotten any other feed back.
