Is anyone getting asked to pay all back taxes and sewer liens from Old Republic?. US Bank owns the property.... In excess of 2 K and we don't even have the property listed yet. Nothing like being the bank for the bank....not me...

I had very bad experiences with a different asset company (ADM, I think) on US Bank properties back in 2008 or so. I got left with high winter utility expenses as well as some trashout charges. They never requested I pay property taxes, but many of these companies do want you to pay all utilities that attach to the property like sewer liens, sometimes HOA fees. I would not pay property taxes ever since those should be taken care of when they get title, and nothing else at all until you actually have a listing or the listing assignment commitment statement.
I've been thinking that we need to vet these companies like they vet us. Not sure what form that would take but it should include a 30 day reimbursement period or ??? we add interest (they would never agree), attach the property (costs), get their W9?, something!

Until you have a listing agreements and authorization to pay from US Bank, might want to hold off.
