  • Kylie I dont need to hijack! here are some o the hundred or so I received!

“Thank you [for] creating the REO conference and emailing me so I had an opportunity to attend. I really enjoyed myself and the other agents that came. Sometimes conferences are so large I have felt anonymous. The breakfasts and the snacks were delicious and I appreciated not having to stand in line at Starbucks. The speakers and the panels impressed me with their extensive knowledge and experience. I really liked yours and Naomi's presentation and although I would not want to have a large staff, I can see it is necessary to service a volume of REO's…One of my favorite persons was the attorney from North Carolina that was selling his book. He was charming and answered all my questions. I hope you will let me know if you have any meetings, seminars or classes in the future I will be attending. Thanks again.”

“Thanks for the invitation to your summit - it was great. It was so refreshing to be in a small group and network. Thanks for the invite. You did an excellent job in bringing us all together.
Hopefully you can convince REOMAC to get back on track. I am still up in the air about attending this year.”
    - Donna Brown

“The Conference has been awesome, very informative. I enjoyed it a lot. You did a great job with organizing it. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to meet other RE professionals.”
    - Magdalena Bronson

“I just wanted to drop you a quick email to thank you for all your hard work in putting on the REO CON. The speakers were informative and interesting and I learned a great deal. I felt I really got my money's worth. Having held events myself I know it requires time, sweat, patience and when all else fails humour.
Thank you and your staff again.”

“As for REOCON; Simply Tom, you out did yourself and the more I learn about your staff, the more I want to be just like you when I grow up, LOL! It was beyond perfection and my imagination.
On just [the short sale] panel alone, regarding Short Sale knowledge, there’s probably about a hundred years of knowledge up there. I mean it’s phenomenal the amount of knowledge that’s up there, and the enthusiasm. To take that home and put it to work in my office, I’m gonna retire a little early perhaps!!
Actually I got more than I anticipated or expected [for what I paid]. It was just a GREAT presentation of information and knowledge. If you’re not gonna come to REOCON and take in this type of information . . . somebody else is gonna be selling the real estate. It’s that simple!
Just saying THANK YOU is not enough, I really consumed some great info and met some fantastic people. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!”
    - Jim Phillips

    “Thanks for a GREAT conference!”
    - Bob Zachmeier

"The REO CON Summit was outstanding! The educational speakers were excellent and I am thankful for the opportunity…Thanks Hugh!"
    - Karey Grimsley

“Thanks for putting on a very good conference. It was well put together, informative, and a good ‘catch-up’ with what is going on in the market today and where it is headed, as told by the industry experts. I know you would have liked many more agents there but was a good intimate atmosphere anyway for those of us that did attend. You are to be commended…. Thanks again.”
    - Randy Miller

“I wanted to thank you for putting on the Summit. It was a terrific event. I learned a lot and it got me fired up to work even harder and do more. Thanks so much.”
    - Cheryl Calhoun

“Once again I like to thank you and Tom and your whole team for a great event.”
    - Andro J Chavez

You have created something so special to all of us. It was a long trip but so worth the time, effort and money.
Thank you so very much for taking me under your wing, the personal introduction to Cary, the wonderful lunches and companionship and most importantly your friendship. You are very special….be proud that you put on a fantastic conference!”
    - Nancy Braun

“In these challenging times it is always a pleasure to meet fellow members in the industry who share the same passion and interest.
I want to thank you for co-hosting an excellent conference! The speakers were phenomenal. I walked way well informed and deeply enriched with all the information that was shared.
The opportunity to network and connect with industry leaders was a welcomed experience. It was a perfect atmosphere! I was impressed how so many individuals were open and willing to share their experiences, challenges as well as their knowledge. Many business cards were exchanged which is a valuable tool.”
    - Gema S Smith

“We’ve enjoyed REOCON. We’ve had a lot of good feedback from the attendees. We sold some product, got some really good leads. I really enjoyed being here. Everybody has been positive. I think it’s been a great success.”

“One of the things that we’re very happy with relative to REOCON is the fact that we’ve got agents here from all across the nation and we’re a nationwide company. So we feel like we’re accomplishing our mission of getting nationwide exposure. It’s working out very well for us.”
    - Steve Lorimer, BPO Automation (video interview)

“Fantastic convention, excellent organization, wonderful room, good sound. The entire thing went off in a particularly classy manner. So thank you Tom Moon, thank you all the organizers. It’s a wonderful program, I recommend it to everyone.”
    - Tim Burrell, Author (video interview)

“I found REOCON to be very informative. As president of REOMAC, I’ve not only participated but put on many conferences, and I had to congratulate the presenters of all of this information at REOCON because they did an incredible job. The setting was intimate, the speakers were fantastic. I got a lot of updated information that I didn’t expect to get and I’m very, very pleased to have been here.”
    - Shelley Kaye, Women In Default Services (video interview)

First of all, all the panelists, an extremely extreme wealth of information. An incredible source. It’s one of the best things I’ve ever attended in my life”

    • Hi Hugh,

When Kyle was talking about "Hijacking" he was referring to a phenomenon in the blogosphere when a blog writer has his blog taken over by the person or entity he is writing about. In the world of blog etiquette, it's considered rude. In fact, many blogs now will ban a person from a network for repeatedly “Hijacking” blogs.

My point, what Kyle said, “I'm not mad at you for promoting your event but what you are doing is called "hijacking" and based on the comments above, is completely unnecessary.” He wasn’t referring to the success of your event so much that you came on to his blog to “promote” even when it was …..as he said, “completely unnecessary”

Just so you know, “Hijacking” isn’t something the average blogger knows much about. Most of the time, I only hear it come up among those of us that blog regularly and “know the rules” so, think of this as water under the bridge and next time you will know that hijacking a blog, or defensively commenting on a blog that is specifically about you in such a way that corrupts the nature of free speech isn’t considered playing nice in the blogosphere.
      • Wow....just learned a new blog term. Always good stuff.

Back on forum. Would love to hear more about REOCON by the attendees.

        Keep it going. Thank you.
        • Yikes! The only one thing I don't understand about the REO CON is that the main organizer is or was former REOMAC director. Tom is a man with a large trayectory in the REO business and owns his own AMC, no doubt about it. But, it was necessary to create another event when the other organization has one coming around the corner?

I agree that REOMAC must get back on track and look for better way to take over and continue to be the leader in the Default Industry. Only in America!!!
    • LOL..is anyone else laughing right now like I am?
  • I will give you some feedback however I was one of the promotors! We have a dvd coming out for sale and you can see for yourself! there are many testimonials and from attendees and vendors also. It was smaller than five star and REOMAC about 250 attendees, it was very educational and great to network! several Asset Managers were there and walking amongst the attendees and not being attacked! we have received several.... over 75 emails telling us how nice it was and how easy it was to network. Everyone I talked to said they would come back to the next one... So keep your eyes open for January of 2011.
    • Thanks for your feedback Hugh but being that you are a promoter, we would expect nothing less than positive feedback from you. I'm not mad at you for promoting your event but what you are doing is called "hijacking" and based on the comments above, is completely unnecessary.

Third party testimonials are golden and you have more than one already in this thread. There is no need for your self-promotion. Your event was good and the results are speaking for themselves.

Keep promoting successful events like REOCON and let them speak for themselves =).
  • I enjoyed it and found that it was easier to network with other agents and speakers due to the size(small)
Lots of good information, I would attend again.
  • No feedback yet? I was hoping to see some input on this topic! Either it was great and everyones busy getting their info into their new contacts or?
    • I enjoyed the conference...excellent speakers that were all very informative. I would also attend again!
