I've done BPOs for AVM, but haven't gotten enough to impact my bank account. I'd sign up for others, but I don't want to waste time on the companies that have little or no activity in my geography. Is there a source for finding out where the various companies focus?

  • Art,

You need to apply more companies on this site. I only did it once and have been staying with a few big ones.

Today you get more from company A next year it is company B. The small ones like AVM I try to keep income under $700 as they don't send you a 1099 form. I know a brokerage which hires PT assistants and their revenue is 6 figures.

  • Art - There is no way to find out where the BPO companies will have orders as their clients change and their clients servicing packages are generally not geographically based and also change.

  • My experience has been the impact on my bank account was that I went broker and worked my butt off 12 hours a day 7 days a week. In doing so, I neglected my RE business and here I am two years after I quit doing them and have my RE business built back up to where it was.

    BPOs - NO THANKS!

    $40 for driveby - That's a  hoot!

In my book, BPOs are a slow, agonizing way to the bankrupt court. I'll do them for $100, but not one penny less.

Did you get a real estate license to do BPOs or list and sell real estate?

    • Marvin,

No, I didn't get my license to do BPOs. I have found that doing a few of them has given me insight into what a lender/servicer/BPO-mill is looking for as far as valuations. It informs my understanding of foreclosures. My real focus is providing realtor services to residential investors. My broker told me earlier this year that he didn't think he did many BPOs in 2012 but, when he added them up, he made $4k. That's peanuts, for sure, but it is an additional stream of income.

  • Art,

Our company offers registration services for BPO companies.  Being we service agents/brokers nationwide, we have the expertise to help you maximize volume in your given area (FL).  We register our clients to the companies which will pay, have high volume and/or high fee payouts.  We are up on the latest trends as volume tends to ebb and flow from company to company throughout the year.  To get started, simply register a free account on our site.
