You are correct. You do not need a real estate license in the state of Indiana to auction off property.

I am attending my first local R/E Auction on the 17th. As mentioned prior..my family Auctioneer Friend has made the connection and will not need to secure a R/E License to start off.

I have joined this group for a different reason. A family friend has come to me for information. He is a trained & certified "Auctioneer" yes very fun @ parties. He is looking for information about becoming a real estate Auctioneer. He was told to get his Real Estate license. My advice is to first talk directly to your potential future employer before you put your self through Real Estate school.

Basically you have to wait for someone to die before opportunities arise in this industry and he wants to jump into a new career.

Any advice as to how to give advice? Any great companies you would recommend contacting?

Is anyone having any luck auctioning reo properties, when it comes to competing against the big time auction companies like REDC, Hudson & Marshal and Williams & Williams. I am trying to auction the properties off if I can't sell them in a certain amount of time, but only the small asset companies are interested.
