Awesome Free Map / Route Tool

Posted on June 1, 2008 at 3:53pm 2 Comments

There will not be much argument from just about anyone that Google has developed some awesome free products that make the life of a real estate agents life a lot easier. On top of making so much available for free, they allow others to go ahead and enhance and customize their applications.

This is such a tool.

It starts with the basic Google Maps that I am sure most who read this currently use in their lives – one way or another.

OK, this may be a little optimistic, but the Wall Street Journal recently published an article with the same headline

You can check it out here.

Go ahead and read it - and them please leave you thoughts below as to how this relates to the REO market in your area....

REOPro – How Can We All Benefit?

Posted on June 1, 2008 at 10:35am 3 Comments

REOPRO is a new site that is focused on REO Agent education. At the time of this writing, there are about 150 members. From a very rough review of the site, my guess is about half of us have little or no REO experience and want to break into the niche du jour while the other half has been doing this long enough to think they know what they are doing. I like to think I fall into the later category.

As with any new site, our success depends on one another. I hope that we do not fall… Continue

How to Do a Good BPO – with the emphasis on GOOD!

Posted on May 31, 2008 at 7:17pm 11 Comments

BPO or “Broker Price Opinion” is the back bone of the REO (Real Estate Owned) industry. This is the tool that banks, lenders, investors and perhaps most importantly the asset managers use to determine the value of a property once they have taken it back at auction and again after it has been on the market for 90 or more days. For this article I will refer to all of these individuals / entities as “Asset Managers”, if that is OK.

A BPO is typically tasked to two or more agents to… Continue

Hello,

I am a Commercial Banker looking to issue re-discount lines of credit for investors looking to leverage their capital. If you or anyone you know is investing in the REO market with an excess of $2 million of capital, please call to discuss your options of increasing you rate of return through leverage.

Hi John,

A little about me!!

I am now approaching my 2-year anniversary as a licensed realtor. I have been blessed over the last two years in that I have maintained constant and consistent business. I am proud to share that I was the #4 top producer in my office for the year 2007. Now, I know that may not impress many, but, nonetheless, I am proud of my accomplishment.

Over the past two years in real estate, we have all seen a shift in the market with great opporunity in the world of REOs. As a result, on a daily basis, I have set aside time to educate myself, network and market myself so that I too can become an experienced REO consultant.

I have signed up with tons of companies for both BPOs and REOs. Business is slowly evolving from this sector, but nonetheless, I keep on plugging away. Reading blogs of experienced real estate agents as related to their breakthrough and successes is what helps keep me motivated (of course in addition to self-motivation). To date, I am gaining much knowledge about REOs as I get to experience the side of an REO transaction as a buyer's agent.

So, I am here~~~ready to learn, share and network and will shout out to the REO world when I get my first REO listing!!

I definitely look forward to reading your blogs.....

Hi John, How are you? I am fairly new to the REO world and have been learning a lot of the past few months. I am in Northern California, East Bay, and have lots of REO competition in my area! I enjoy these sites as I learn so much! I have picked up a lot of great information through these sites and hope to actively participate in this one! See you on ReoPro!

Hi John Occhi:

This site is dedicated to the Realtors who work with Lenders, Banks and Asset Managers in assisting them with the liquidation of their real estate portfolio holdings.

We are a Network of Professionals spread across the country and have come together online to network and provide support through our accumulated knowledge and experience. This support could be anything from providing information on ways to obtain industry recognized designations, to the contact information of the Asset Managers who can make or break us. The power of our network will be determined by those who participate openly and freely.

I really would like this to be a place where we as Listing Agents can share information without constraint with one another in the pursuit to help each other in the advancement of our shared profession.

Feel free to customize your “my page”, start your blog, add events, post photos, share videos and invite people to any of the new groups formed here by REOPRO. I believe with your help, this network can have a positive impact on the lives and professional development of all who are members.

If you have any other suggestion, feel free to send them my way, I will truly consider them, the door is always open and welcome to REOPRO.
