  • Hi Cesar,

I assume you are registered with Freddie Mac at http://www.homesteps.com/rl01_3sellagent_sele_reg.htm

You are allowed 10 zip codes for your areas of service. That may be fine for some, but my area has a very high population density so my area of coverage is over 50 zips (still within a 20 mile radius), So what to do? I registered my wife and 28-year partner, and other REO team members to get the zip coverage we wanted.

HomeSteps staff has assured me that they have some magic algorithym that randomly selects the agents from the zip lists for assignements. So it's not supposed to matter whether you registered early or later. While that seems too be true, random selection is hard (impossible) to verify . . . isn't it.

I would do what you can do to get the zips you want registered (even through friends and team members) and move on the the next potential client registration. I recently wrote a response to another (re: REOTrans) forum where I said that this [REO] is is "not a lottery" but a selection process. In hind-sight, prompted by your inquiry, I will correct myself. In connection with Freddie Mac/HomeSteps, it is purely a lottery.

Are you going to REOMAC (Oct 14-17)? If you are let me know. We are blazing a new quality message for NFSTI and REOMasters members. It would be great if you could join the force.

    Regards,

    Clay
  • You sure are busy! :-) Good job!
