I know we've all had issues with Altisource but here's a good one. As we all are aware the listing agents for Altisource could be anywhere.
I have a regular investors list email that I send all the REO listings to on an almost daily basis. It includes, new listings, price reductions, solds, the whole nine yards. And yes, up until maybe today, Altisource listings as well. My problem arose when one of the investors I work with wanted to see an Altisource listing. Not being local, there is no local MLS box on the property. So I go to my GoHoming site, log in and request the lock box code. Gues what, it's decided it doesn't know me anymore. Let's me in. Tells me everything I ever wanted to know about the property but won't give up the access code. Says send an email with my license number to the appropriate foreigner. I comply, also doing a cc to the agent of record. I get an email telling me that due to the volume of emails it will be 24 hours before I can expect a response. So, being the proactive broker that I am I go to their on line chat for help. Guess what...it's offline for 24 hours. I did type in my request and sent it. But I got an auto email back advisig that the individual responsible for answering those emails was out of the office and my email was being forwarded to someone else. By the way, 24 hours later I got an email from that address telling that address wasn't valid. And as a update to my original request for access codes....I got an email 36 hours later telling me that again, due to the high volume of requests they hadn't got to my request yet. It was neat however, because in the body of the response was directiions on how to request the access code over the GoHoming site. Needless to say, my potential buyer isn't going to see this Altisource listing. OK guys...I feel better just having a shoulder to cry on for minute. Now back to the real world of handling REO.
